Designed for safe, easy operation. Bright LED indicator lights for POWER, HEAT and (on Hotplate/Stirrers) STIR let you assess unit status at a glance. During operation and even after the unit is turned off, the HOT TOP indicator light blinks a warning if the top is too hot to touch (>60°C/140°F). Separate temperature sensor provides power cutoff in catastrophic situations. Top-quality insulation keeps the heat on the top, away from controls and the lab bench. Extra-large knobs feature easy-to-read numbers and provide better control, even while wearing bulky safety gloves. Hotplate/Stirrers feature a closed-loop stirring control that monitors and regulates speed. The microprocessor automatically adjusts motor strength to accommodate aqueous, viscous, or semi-solid solutions. A stronger, larger magnet improves stir bar coupling and stirring speed capability. Automatic adjustment to large increases in speed minimizes decoupling. All units supplied with guide to heating and stirring procedures. Hotplate/Stirrers also supplied with appropriate Stir Bar.
